Making Vector Characters in Less Than 10 Minutes

Saya jarang berbagi ilmu mengenai cara gambar saya, bagi seorang desainer itu sama saja seperti membuat peti matinya sendiri. Tapi membagi ilmu dasar sepertinya tidak akan melukai siapapun. Beberapa hal yang harus diketahui sebelum melihat dan membaca turotial ini adalah :

1. Saya akan menggunakan bahasa inggris yang tidak beraturan dan tidak  patut dicontoh bagi warga negara manapun.

2. Tutorial ini hanya bersifat “sharing” dan “dasar” jadi pengaplikasiannya lebih lanjut dapat ditempuh melalui eksperimen-eksperimen yang bisa dilakukan sendiri.

3. Tutorial ini bukan panutan, hanya untuk menambah wawasan.

4. Tutorial ini hanya bersifat membantu, cara kerja saya tidak akan sepenuhnya diceritakan di sini, harap maklum.

5. Semua karakter dibuat menggunakan program vektor Macromedia/Adobe Freehand.

kita mulai, siapkan waktu sepuluh menit untuk tiap karakter yang akan dipelajari, jadi kira-kira anda akan menghabiskan waktu setengah jam, walau kenyataannya bisa kurang dari itu.

1. SUN

a. make a round shape.

b. add some simple shape for the eyes and mouth.

c. use rectangular tools to make some multi point/corner shape.

d. bend the line of the multi point shape towards the ‘face of the sun’.

e. fill it up, and finish it

2. OWL

a. make a round shape.

b. add two simple shape (look at the pictures).

c. union it!

d. add more simple shapes for the eyes.

e. add a line with multi point.

f. bend it! (look at the picture)

g. add an oval shape for the beak.

h. add an oval shape for the legs.

i. add some ovals behind the oval shape for the legs.

i. fill it, and finish it.

3. SHEEP

a. make a round shape.

b. make some more round shapes  following the main round shape.

c. union it together!

d. make some round shapes just like the picture.

e. union it. (separate the top and down when union it, so you dont union the one in top with the one in the bottom)

f. put the two new shape just like the picture above.

g. punch the big one with the little one.

h. combine it, with the shape we make before, add some simple shapes.

i. add a oval shape for simple leg.

j. clone the leg and rotate it for a natural look.

k. fill it, and finish it
